The bank link is an important part of the bank payment system. It is assigned to you by the bank or other institution you open an account with and uniquely identifies you.
What does the bank connection look like?
The banking connection consists of three parts:
- A prefix that is separated from the second part by a hyphen.
- The customer’s bank account number
- The bank code, which is different for each bank and is separated from the bank account number by a slash.
Did you know that a client’s bank account number can have a maximum of 16 digits and can only be used for payments in the Czech Republic? For payments abroad, you need an IBAN, i.e. an international account number.
